The female brain is superior for marketing

The female brain is superior for marketing

When it comes to marketing, a recent report by Mark Ritson, Associate Professor of marketing at Melbourne Business School indicates that women have considerably more skill, potential and value to the marketing process than men.

Unfortunately for men, it all comes down to genetics.  According to the Professors research, women’s brains are superior for communication and emotional understanding.  Which means they are much better Marketers.  One of the core aspects of successful marketers or marketing is the core ability to have a deep level of understanding and empathy with the target audience.

Male marketers unfortunately, due to genetics, tend to lack deep insight how the target audience for their product or service offers feels or thinks.  Which according to Mark Ritson is the reason why most male marketers are not as successful as women.  Men are more likely to make the error of assuming their own thoughts and reactions can be extrapolated to that of the target market.  Wrong.

I guess I can’t argue with that….  Email me if you would like a copy of the article.

Is your marketing certified?

Is your marketing certified?

Did you know that there is an elite group of marketing professionals in Australia called CPMs?  A CPM or Certified Practicing Marketers are the marketing industries equivalent of a CPA or Certified Financial Planner.  The Australian Marketing Institute (AMI) who is the governing body of the scheme are currently working with government and various tertiary education providers to help move the industry to a point where only those who are CPM qualified can give marketing advice or teach marketing.  The aim of the CPM program is to lift standards of marketing practitioners and to ensure that only reputable people are giving marketing advice.  I am CPM qualified.  Check out the AMI website for more details.

Through my membership with the Australian Marketing Institute and my CPM qualification, I have recently become involved with Small Business Victoria.  I am listed in the ‘Find An Advisor’ Service and this also enabled me to be profiled in the case study section.  If you are a member of a professional association, l would encourage you to contact them to see how they can add value to what you do.  I did and I have received a large amount of free PR.

The proof is in the reading

The proof is in the reading

Unfortunately spell checkers don’t catch everything.  How often do you read books, magazines or restaurant menus and find mistakes in spelling and grammar.  What do you think of that brand at that moment?  I know how easily small mistakes can slip through the cracks and that is why I have 2 different people read and check all of the work that I produce at Next Marketing.  If you would like a second or third set of eyes to look over your marketing material, call me to discuss how I can help.
