Hi there Do you think that Melbourne is a small place to do business? I do. The more I grow my business and brand the more I realise that there doesn’t seem to be 6 degrees of separation in Melbourne, it is more likely 2-3. With that in mind, the opportunity to grow your business through networking, events, writing and PR is strong and there for your taking. Want to source some new clients through growing your brand and reputation in the market? 2009 may be your year to do more of that. Email me if you would like some tips.

Marketing Puzzle – sell out success! The Marketing Puzzle was a huge success with over 40 people attending the sell out night. We kicked off the event with Speed Networking which was followed by three presentations, each of which provided insight into how small business owners can ensure they are getting the best value (or best bang!) for their marketing dollar spend. To check out pictures from the event visit the Next Marketing website. Stay tuned for details of the next event to be held in 2009!
“I really enjoyed the Marketing Puzzle and got a lot out of it."

FREE SMS offer! SMS Global would like to offer all readers of the Next Marketing newsletter an exclusive offer of 200 FREE SMS messages. I used this service as a reminder SMS message service for the Marketing Puzzle event, which I believe, was one of the contributing factors to having 100% attendance on the night. For the event, I scheduled the SMS message to be sent on the day at 10am which I had programmed through the SMS global website the day before. To take advantage of the offer, log onto the SMS Global website and when registering your details use ‘nextmarketing’ as the promo code during the registration process to be elibible for the extra 200 FREE SMS messages. Enjoy!

Gifts for your clients this year? It is that time of year again when our calendars fill with social events and party invitations as Christmas draws closer. For small business owners, it is also the time when we start to stress and perhaps, panic a little, about whether we can afford to buy gifts to our clients this year. If you would like some tips on this very topic click here for more details.

Get listed on Small Business Victoria I have had a few enquiries about how I got the Marketing Puzzle listed on the Small Business Victoria (SBV) website. Here are the basic steps to follow if you would like to have your own events listed on the site
- Email membership@business.vic.gov.au and request to become an SBV events administrator. This will enable you to add your own events.
- SBV will email you an application form to complete.
- Once SBV has received your completed application they will then send you user names and passwords for your account (it is free).
- Using your new username and password, log onto www.business.vic.gov.au and follow the prompts to enter an event.
- Once your event is uploaded, SBV will review it and approve it before made live to the public.
