Hi there, Merry Christmas

Hi there, Merry Christmas

Christmas is almost here so this is the final issue of the Next Marketing newsletter for 2008. The year started out a lot differently to how it ended and I am glad that it worked out that way. It was this time last year when my thoughts about how to successfully launch my own business in 2008 were being discussed and over the past 12 months these plans have come together. Do you also use this time of year to reflect on the past 12 months and to plan for the next?

All the very best for a very successful and action packed 2009.

What is SPAM?

What is SPAM?

As a regular publisher of an electronic newsletter, I am conscious of my obligations under the SPAM Act 2003. I am often asked what is actually constitutes SPAM so I thought I would share with you a couple of quick points of how SPAM is defined under the Act.

What is a SPAM message?
A SPAM message is any email, SMS, MMS and instant messages services that have been sent to the receiver’s without his/her consent or permission.

Other things to consider:
A message may also be considered SPAM if there is no clear or accurate information about who sent the message and there is no option to unsubscribe from future communication.

If part of your marketing strategy is to use e newsletters or other electronic means to contact your potential customer base, make sure that you are not creating SPAM messages. Not only could it be against the law but it may well have the exact opposite impact to what you were looking for.

If you have any questions, or would like someone to review your electronic marketing, drop me a line.
